Insider: Kubina Asked For List Of Teams
With the trade deadline less than two weeks away, and the Lightning currently sitting a full ten points out of the eighth and final playoff spot in the eastern conference and even farther behind in the race for the southeast division, it appears the “for sale” sign has been placed on the front lawn of the Tampa Bay Times Forum.
The Lightning announced this morning that veteran defenseman Pavel Kubina will be “held off the ice to protect the team’s interests. Has been asked for teams he would be willing to move to.”
Kubina, in his second stint with the Lightning, has potential to provide the Lightning with potentially the most significant return they will see as they approach the February 27th trade deadline as one of the few available defenseman that plays top four minutes and can play in all situations. In 52 games this season, Kubina has three goals, eight assists, averages just under twenty minutes a game, and is third on the team in blocks.
