Signing Day 2012: Florida Gators Recruiting Class

So far, the Gators have 23 commits: 1 five star recruit, 15 four stars, and 6 three stars.

The five star is the talented and athletic offensive lineman D.J. Humphries.  At 6’6” 275 lbs, scouts say he moves like a defensive end and has a very large upside.

Florida continues to add talent to the trenches with the four star recruits.  they are bringing in 4 defensive linemen with the rating, highlighted by the fourth rated defensive end Jonathan Bullard.  Out of North Carolina, Bullard should become an elite pass rusher at the next level.

Among the other four star recruits are 2 offensive linemen, in Jessamen Dunker and Dante Phillips.  Dunker is a mammoth offensive guard at 6’6” 315 lbs and Phillips is an athletic offensive tackle at 6’5” 270 lbs.  The Gators also bring in 2 four star tight ends in Colin Thompson and Kent Taylor.

At the skill positions, Florida has Matt Jones, the 11th rated running back.  Jones is a big bruiser, standing at 6’3” 210 lbs.  The Gators also bring in quarterback Skyler Mornhinweg from Pennsylvania, who projects to be more athletic than a pocket passing quarterback, but not quite a dual-threat.  Possession wide receiver Latroy Pittman will head to Gainesville as the 24th ranked at his position.

In the secondary, the 7th ranked corner back, Brian Poole, committed to the Gators.  Marcus Maye and Rhaheim Ledbetter, the 8th and 9th safeties respectively will bring their talents to the Swamp.

Among the 6 three star recruits is the number one ranked kicker in the country, Austin Hardin from Atlanta, GA.
